Smart PDF (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it. This Privacy Policy explains how our mobile application Smart PDF handles information when you use the app.
By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
🔹 Personal Information
We do not collect, store, or share any personal information such as name, email address, phone number, or location.
🔹 Permissions Used
Smart PDF requires the following permissions strictly to provide core app functionality:
📁 Storage Permission (Android 9 and below)
- Read External Storage
Used to read and display PDF files saved on your device. - Write External Storage
Used to save generated PDF files (Image to PDF, scanned documents, merged/split PDFs) to your device’s Downloads or Documents folder.
👉 All files are stored locally on your device only and are never uploaded to any server.
📷 Camera Permission
Used to capture images for:
- Document scanning
- Creating PDFs from camera images
Camera access is used only when you choose to scan or capture images.
🔔 Notification Permission (Post Notifications)
Used to send important app notifications such as:
- Feature updates
- App improvements
- Important announcements
Notifications are sent via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) and do not contain any personal or sensitive data. You can disable notifications anytime from your device settings.
2. Data Processing & Storage
All PDF processing operations such as:
- Image to PDF conversion
- Document scanning
- Merging PDFs
- Splitting PDFs
are performed entirely on your device (offline processing).
👉 No files or content are uploaded, shared, or stored remotely.
3. Analytics & Crash Reporting
We use Firebase services to improve app performance and stability:
🔹 Firebase Analytics
- Collects anonymous usage data (e.g., feature usage, screen navigation).
- Helps us understand how users interact with the app.
- Does not collect personally identifiable information.
🔹 Firebase Crashlytics
- Collects anonymous crash reports to help us identify and fix bugs.
- Does not include personal data or file contents.

4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties.
The only third-party services used (Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics) process anonymous data solely for app improvement purposes.
5. Children’s Privacy
Smart PDF does not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13.
If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.
6. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect app data:
- All processing occurs locally on the device
- No user documents are transmitted externally
- Firebase services use industry-standard security practices
7. User Control
You are always in control:
- You can deny permissions (camera/storage) from device settings
- You can delete generated PDFs at any time
- You can uninstall the app to remove all associated data
